Lucca
Co-Founder & Instructor
Ski instructor for over 10 years. Discovered kiteboarding in 2016 and since 2019 has been chasing the wind teaching the sport: From Hawaii, to Sicily and Australia; until founding Fauna in Cuesta del Viento in 2024. Patient, didactic, and technical when explaining.
Facu
Co-Founder & Instructor
He has been dedicated to education and group coordination since 2009. Passionate about skiing, he eventually found his way into kitesurfing in 2019. He started teaching the sport four years ago in Cuesta del Viento and Europe, and later founded Fauna in 2024. He loves the teaching–learning process and is fun and extremely patient.
Pili
Instructor
Local rider. Has been kiteboarding since 2015 and an instructor for 6 years. During the winter, travels to other spots to kite and teach classes: Brazil, Tarifa, and Sicily. Loves accompanying the learning process and having fun along the way. Charismatic, sparkly, and good vibes.
Augusto
Instructor
Learned to kiteboard over 10 years ago in Cuesta del Viento, the spot he chose to teach the sport. He likes to create a close relationship with students and motivate them in their learning. His virtue: patience.
Mikael
Instructor
He was a high school and ski teacher, today he teaches on the water. He lives kitesurfing to the fullest and enjoys both initiating new riders and helping others improve, always with calm, confidence, and passion for the wind.
Franco
Instructor
Discovered kiteboarding in 2018 and teaches it in Sicily and Cuesta del Viento. A doctor during the year and kite instructor in the summer. Methodical in teaching, always ensuring care and safety.
Ema
Community Manager
Studies communication and loves design and creating audiovisual content. Discovered Cuesta del Viento in 2023 and delved into kitesurfing, falling in love with the sport and its surroundings.
Our Story
FAUNA was first born from the friendship between Lucca and Facu, who met at the age of 14 and since then have shared two great passions: outdoor sports and music. Their journey in sports began long before kiteboarding: in 2013, a ski trip ignited a spark — the joy of teaching and sharing what you love — which eventually turned into a way of life.
Kiteboarding arrived in 2016. Lucca learned it on a trip and, the first time he rode in Cuesta del Viento, he couldn’t believe it: the wind paradise was much closer to home than he had imagined. He immediately thought of sharing it with Facu; Facu took the course, fell in love with the sport, and that’s how the shared passion was born.
Both became certified instructors and began teaching at local schools. Due to the seasonality of the sport, they started traveling in search of wind — Maui, Sicily, Australia, Valencia — where they taught courses and organized camps. Those experiences made one thing clear: kiteboarding is the perfect excuse to meet, share, and connect beyond the water.
What happened on those trips couldn’t stay only in Sicily. Back home, among mountains and constant wind, they found the place where everything made sense: Cuesta del Viento. That’s where FAUNA was born — a school, yes, but above all a meeting point for those seeking real outdoor experiences in good company.
TODAY
FAUNA is a wind community; we learn together, take care of each other, and celebrate outdoor life. Kiteboarding is the excuse; community and connection with nature are the goal.
At FAUNA, teaching goes hand in hand with friendship: mates, music, laughter, conversations, meals, trips, and of course, lots of kiteboarding. If you’re looking to learn together, explore new winds, and make friends, this is your place.
